A Bio Food brand

One fruit chain, one accountable supplier

We grow with partner orchards, freeze and pulp the fruit ourselves, cook and fill it on our own lines and ship it from our own cold store. Podo is the brand that supplies that chain to manufacturers abroad.

Who we are

Podo is the export brand of Bio Food (Hebei) Industry Co., Ltd., a fruit processor registered in December 2024 in the Guangzong Economic Development Zone of Xingtai, Hebei, on the North China plain. The plant is new; the cold store, the refrigerated fleet and the orchards around it are not — they were built out from 2019 onwards. A second plant, Bio Food (Zhejiang) Industry Co., Ltd., operates in eastern China, and the group's agricultural arm, Penghui Agriculture, handles growing, freezing, storage and logistics.

We are a manufacturer, not a trader. The fruit is sourced by us, frozen by us, pulped, cooked and filled by us, and shipped from our own cold store. When a customer asks for a finer mesh, a higher fruit content or a softer piece, that is an adjustment we make on the line rather than a request we pass upstream.

How we source

Peach, apricot, apple, pear and grape come from orchards around the plant; Hebei grows more pears than any other province in China and the region is a stone-fruit heartland. Strawberry and blueberry come from partner farms in northern China, raspberry from China and Serbia, blueberry also from Canada, and sour cherry from Poland for custom projects. Every lot is tagged with its orchard and harvest date and that tag travels with the product.

How we work with customers

  • Application review before anything ships. A described product gets a recipe proposal and a specification; a bare fruit name gets a bag of puree.
  • Two recipes, not one. A lead recipe and a comparison route in the first trial answers more than one recipe run twice.
  • Phased introduction. Second source, one line or one SKU first — not a wholesale changeover.
  • Support through scale-up. Trial to first order to annual programme, including troubleshooting when the product or the line changes.

Who we work with

Ingredient importers and cold-chain distributors building a fruit portfolio with local stock. Dairy, ice-cream, bakery and beverage manufacturers who need consistent product, process fit and a balance between cost and supply security. Jam brands, private-label retailers and hotel groups who want their own recipe made reliably.

Where we serve

Our first markets are the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, France and the United Kingdom, followed by Belgium, Italy, Spain, Poland, the Nordics, Australia and New Zealand and the Gulf. Production and technical support are in China; commercial coverage runs through direct supply and importing partners depending on the market.

Western EuropeNetherlands, Germany, France, United Kingdom. Direct and through importing partners.
Rest of EuropeBelgium, Italy, Spain, Poland, Nordics. Project-based supply.

Label and claim requirements are confirmed per market and per project before shipment. Tell us the destination early and we address it as part of the technical discussion.

Factory visits

We manufacture in-house and customers are welcome at the plant. If a site visit or audit is part of your supplier qualification process, tell us early and we will arrange it.

What the structure gives you

Making the fruit ourselves changes the conversation

Recipes, not compromises

Fruit content, Brix, mesh and piece size are variables we set on our own line, not fixed specifications we resell. When a product needs a different route, it exists.

One conversation, not two

Technical questions do not travel through a trading layer to reach the people who run the pulper. Application support and production sit in the same company.

Supply you can audit

Lot consistency, lead time and cold-chain capacity are ours to answer for. Customers are welcome to visit the plant as part of qualification.

Our journey so far

Company milestones

Cold store, then transport, then orchards, then the plant. Registration dates are public and verifiable through the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System.

2019

Cold store first

The site at Guangzong starts with a cold store. Stone fruit on the North China plain is picked over a few weeks in the summer, so everything that follows depends on being able to hold that harvest at temperature.

2020

Cold-chain transport

A refrigerated transport company is added at Guangzong, so fruit moves between orchard, cold store and plant without leaving the cold chain.

2021

Penghui Agriculture

The growing side is brought together as Hebei Penghui Agriculture Group, registered in September 2021: peach, apricot, apple, pear and strawberry, grown, frozen, stored and hauled within one group rather than bought on a spot market.

2024

Bio Food (Hebei)

Bio Food (Hebei) Industry Co., Ltd. is registered in the Guangzong Economic Development Zone on 5 December 2024, and the processing plant goes in behind the cold store: an Italian-built turbine cold-pulping line, vacuum cooking for preparations with pieces, tubular sterilisation, metal detection and aseptic bag-in-box and drum filling.

2026

Podo, and an HPP line

Podo is launched as the export brand for manufacturers, importers and foodservice customers abroad, starting with North America and Western Europe. A cold-pressed HPP fruit and vegetable juice line is scheduled to start on the same site.

Responsible sourcing

What we do and do not claim

Fruit is a seasonal crop and we buy it from growers we know. We prefer to describe what we do — origin-tagged lots, frozen within hours of intake, processed on our own site — over claims we have not verified for your market.

We therefore do not use terms such as organic, clean label, no added sugar or non-GMO on this site. Where a project needs a claim, it is reviewed against the recipe, the test data and the target market's rules before it goes on a label.

Send us the application, not just the fruit.

Product, process, target fruit content and Brix, pack and destination. We reply with a proposal and a formal quotation (EXW, FOB or CIF) within two working days.
